Today I’m introducing one of China’s most popular travel APPs, Ma Feng Wo, what it is, and how it can benefit businesses beyond simply hotels or foot traffic at popular landmarks.​

Listing about 10 million travel blogs a month including destination guides or word of mouth from travellers, Mafengwo has over 130 million users constantly contributing useful information and reviews and much more.​

In essence, consider it a little like China’s answer to TripAdvisor, with all the typical features you might expect from a travel-oriented platform. ​

Users can read and write reviews and recommendations, search potential holiday destinations and generally gain valuable insight into hotspots, while also booking hotels, plane and train tickets, entrance tickets for attractions and additionally purchasing insurance and visas when needed as well. ​

The APP also very usefully provides a clear breakdown of options for trips, with categories including ‘travelling with kids’, travelling for food, sport, shopping, photography and much more.​

Okay, all sounds fairly straightforward right? Well, in addition to the features mentioned, there is a lot more that helps Ma Feng Wo stand out from its competition, with users and jetsetters able to live stream via the platform to share in real-time the places they are visiting, whether that’s showing off lovely hotel facilities or delicious local food and drinks at restaurants, bars and cafes.​

Perhaps most interesting for users and for businesses too is the fact that much of the most gobbled up content comes from vastly popular KOLs and influencers, the platform boasting over 150 corporate celebrities and a hefty 10,000+ travel KOLS! ​

In fact, famous brands carefully select KOLs to experience destinations and use products to maintain high quality travel blogs. Users can not only read and view content shared but also interact and learn about where these celebs are visiting and follow their recommendations too.
